The University de los Andes (Uniandes, Universidad de los Andes) is a coeducational, nonsectarian private university located in downtown Bogotá, Colombia. Uniandes is considered one of the best private universities in Colombia and is the first one which was non-denominational.
It was founded in 1948 by a small group of young, charismatic and well-connected men, and has since grown to over 12,000 students with over 1100 teaching staff (nearly half of which are full-time).
