The University De Los Andes (Universidad de los Andes) is one of the best private universities in Colombia and the earliest one which was non-denominational. It was founded in 1948 by a small group of young, charismatic and well-connected men and has now grown to over 12000 students with over 1100 teaching staff (nearly half of which are full-time).
