The University College Sealand (University College Sjælland, UCSJ) supports blended learning and LMS support (Skolekom).
UCSJ wants to "cover a wide range of study opportunities for public and private jobs in an efficient and modern welfare state".
The UCSJ’s main office is in Sorø, Denmark. Other locations the UCSJ educates its students are Haslev, Roskilde, Slagelse, Holbæk, Nykøbing F. and Vordingborg.
More than 6,000 students are enrolled at UCSJ.
University College Sealand is a recent merger of CVU South and CVU Zealand and the primary objective of the merger has been to strengthen the academic and professional quality of each of the educations within the University College.
This HEI has an UCSJ Intranet for the administrators and educators but a system for the students isn’t clearly mentioned on the site.
UCSJ uses “the term e-learning for all learning, strengthened through the use of information and communication technology (ICT)” and recognises its benefits such as a boost of quality, flexibility, … ”. UCSJ provides e-learning throughout the bachelor programmes and several courses (Pedagogy, Teaching, Nurses, Nutrition and Health courses) with contact days limited to 2 to 4 per month. “Here you'll find opportunities to take your education in these disciplines partially over the Internet.” “So you will encounter words such as network-based education, remote study / distance learning, flexible education, virtual learning, e-learning, etc.”
For the e-learning communication /LMS students use Skolekom FirstClass, which was developed by UNI-C. You can see a Danish Skolekom manual (PDF) here.
