Beijing Radio and TV University (BTVU) is an open university based in Beijing, China, which provides distance education via radio, television, computer networks, textbooks and "audio-video textbooks." It is a part of the CCRTVU (China Central Radio and TV University) system, with 53 branches and/or learning centres in various districts and rural areas. It is not clear on first glance what role (if any) e-Learning plays at BTVU.
BTVU has more than 150,000 students pursuing bachelor's degrees or associate's diplomas. A further 650,000 pursue vocational and other non-degree training.
BTVU's mission is to provide a high-quality university education to all. BTVU has 1900 staff, of which 815 are full-time instructors.
