A ''Ceased E-Learning Initiative'' (CELI) is one that is no longer active and has officially ceased to exist. 

CELIs should be differentiated from [[FELIs]], as the latter can be considered to have 'failed' at meeting their goals. CELIs, on the other hand, may cease operation due to a number of factors, including:

* Re-branding as, or merging with, another institution or initiative
* Meeting project goals (e.g. in the case of a fixed-term project)
