	~~The ''Open University of Madrid'' ('''~~Universidad a distancia de Madrid''', UDIMA) is the second private Open University. It was founded in 2006, located in Madrid. This university wants to follow the leader ([[UOC]]) in the sector of private open universities. They see the new opportunity to grow in this market niche, because there aren’t enough universities like this in Spain and thanks to the evolution of ICT related to education. UDIMA is the third open university in Spain.

	Nowadays a lot of people could not go to the university for different reasons, so this target group is selected for the company furthermore they offer some international degrees such us: business management, law, engineering among others, they also offer some own titles like Expert on Audit and Review of Annual Accounts, Training Course of Insurance and Reinsurance. They began their activity in the year 2007/2008.

	The main shareholder of UDIMA is [[CEF]] (Centro de estudios financieros), they work together doing projects, doing courses, publishing books, using the knowledge that [[CEF]] got in all of the years that they have been working related to ICT and teaching.

	The strength Of ''Open University of Madrid'', [[Spain]] is associated with the way they teach, they use the newest ICT, but without forget the students, UDIMA take care of being very close to them (personalization and constant accompaniment of the student), for this reason UDIMA is hiring professional teachers with a lot of experience in different fields of knowledge and they are used to work with distance learning system based on new technologies.

	~~Their mission is: provide the best service to students, technology and guardians have the mission to accompany and help the student to pass his studies.~~

	~~The main aims of UDIMA are teaching, learning, study and research of quality.~~
	*Teaching:

	Teachers in charge of tutoring up of different training activities using an on-line telematic tool for internal communication since they can act as guides, mentors and energizing the different learning groups.

	*Training materials:

	The teachers have all learning materials (theory and practice) in different mediums. Throughout the training, teachers invite students to make any comments and improvements necessary. These assessments, in all cases they interpret as a possible improvement actions are reflected in the two surveys that are conducted online through the training. They can study the results to improve.

	*Research:

	~~They research together with CEF. They have an strategic plan in ICT.~~

	The UDIMA aims to be a university focused on research. There are plans to create a Research and Development Institute which will be promoted from the various R & D in various fields of science and technology.
