''Chile'', officially the '''Republic of Chile''' (Spanish: '''República de Chile'''), is a country in South America occupying a long and narrow coastal strip wedged between the Andes mountains and the [[Pacific Ocean]]. It borders [[Peru]] to the north, [[Bolivia]] to the northeast, [[Argentina]] to the east, and the Drake Passage at the country's southernmost tip. It is one of only two countries in South America that does not have a border with [[Brazil]]. Several universities in Chile ([http://www.usach.cl/ Universidad de Santiago de Chile], [http://www.ulagos.cl/ Universidad de Los Lagos], [http://www.ucn.cl/ Universidad Catolica del Norte] and [http://www.umce.cl/ Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educacion]) are fellow members of an international project called [http://www.oportunidadproject.eu/ OportUnidad]. Institutions from Latin America and the European Union participate in this project, which seeks to create a common ground in higher education by increasing the use of open educational resources (OERs) and practices (OEPs). OportUnidad started in January 2012 and ends in June 2014.
