He is also a former Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, in which position he had responsibility for the University's strategy, planning and strategic partnerships. Outside the University Geoff has served on a number of national and international bodies and has chaired the [[JISC]] Committee for Networking and then UKERNA (the company that runs the [[JANET]] [[NREN]]).&lt;br /&gt;
