&lt;div&gt;Dr. Eric Beerkens is Head of Studies at the Knowledge &amp;amp; Innovation Directorate of the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC). Before joining Nuffic, Eric held a Sesqui postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Sydney in Australia from 2005-2008. He also was a research associate at the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) in the Netherlands from 1998 - 2005. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Eric's professional and research interests are in policies and politics in the fields of higher education and science &amp;amp; technology, especially issues related to internationalisation, globalisaton, international cooperation and regional integration. &lt;br /&gt;
